Plot
Morgan Freeman narrates this fascinating account of the lives of Emperor penguins in the Antarctic. The penguins brave a long march to the sea, where they feed and risk attacks by predators, then return to their nesting grounds. The penguins have remarkable ways of finding their mates and touching devotion to their eggs and chicks. The movie gives us genuine insight into the harsh lives of the penguins without anthropomorphizing them. The movie draws in the viewer with the the sweeping vistas of Antarctica and, of course, black and white penguins are always photogenic.
