| Plot |
| Eight crazy nights is an animated romp inspired by the wildly popular Hanukkuh song by Adam Sandler, in addition to its musical sequels. The song that urged listeners to "get out their harmonica; it's time for Hanukkah" was introduced on a Saturday Night Live Episode when Sandler was a cast member. This quirkily heartwarming tale features Sandler as Whitey, an elder gentleman who is sympathetic towards the often law breaking Davey Stone. He sees something in Davey when Davey tries to leave a Chinese restaurant without paying and in the process damages a Christmas tree and a giant Menorah. The judge wants to send him to jail, but Davey suggests he be made a coach in the spirit of community service, which turns out to be just as difficult. The film's central themes are about redemption, and friendship. It may be surprising, but most Sandler films as irreverent as they are tend to feature characters that care about each other and often touch on the theme of acceptance. |
