| In the 1980s, after Fish (Rainn Wilson), a drummer in a heavy metal band called Vesuvius, is suddenly forced out, he must do boring jobs to make ends meet. Vesuvius becomes extremely popular over the next two decades. In the meantime, the hardworking Fish turns 40 and ends up playing in a teenagers’ band called A. D.D., which has just lost a drummer. The band features bassist Amelia (Emily Stone), moody vocalist Curtis (Teddy Geiger), and Fish’s nephew Matt (Josh Gad). A. D.D.’s uploaded video brings them unexpected stardom but also many personal conflicts, as Fish falls for Curtis’s mother(Christina Applegate). |
