| Plot |
| “The Mists of Avalon” is a tale of Arthurian Legend but told through the point of view of the women who stood behind these iconic figures. The story opens with three priestesses who gather on the island of Avalon. Viviane (Angelica Houston) is the head priestess; Morgause (Joan Allen) is the more villainous priestess while Igraine (Caroline Goodall) is the third and most victimized of the group. The three stand around and run events around them with an occasional assistance from a meddling Merlin (Michael Byrne). The story unfolds showing how these have manipulated events concerning the life of King Arthur (Edward Atterton). When Mordred (Hans Matheson) is born of Arthur’s lust Camelot is destroyed and all that King Arthur holds dear is taken from him. |
